Men-only spaces not only gatekeep spaces from other genders but also excuse misogyny

Have you ever stumbled upon a sign that “jokes” about “no women allowed” and men bragging about how their “man cave” means they’re “always right”? You might think to yourself “Pfft, men… who needs ‘em? Besides, I don’t want to be a part of their dumb spaces anyway”. In that case, you’re half right.

Meaning, we fail to realize that men-only spaces also glorify male supremacy (in dangerous ways). In short, misogyny and male entitlement KILLS.

For example, how many man cave signs do you see that have a picture of a skinny half-naked woman on the side? Not only that, do they also say “women by invitation only”? This is disgusting as it not only sexualizes women, but also creates the harmful stereotype that women apparently are dying to get into men-only spaces. To make matters worse, it also promotes discrimination and rape culture.

As far as history goes, men wouldn’t allow women the same rights and luxuries as them, and when women have dared to speak out, men attempt to silence them by using threats of violence, rape, murder, or all of the above.

As a result of men forbidding women, women created their own spaces, those that only allowed women. Ironically, when men notice women’s independence and capabilities, they use projection claiming that the women are just discriminating against men and (especially in present day) using their “feminist agenda” to abuse men.

One of the biggest arguments against feminism in fact has always been “women already have rights, they just want special treatment” in order to justify misogyny. These are the kinds of men who will claim they love and respect women all while saying shit like “women who wear revealing clothing are sluts and will only distract men”.

What misogynists fail to acknowledge is that in today’s society, women-only spaces are made to keep women safe. When sexist men are prevented from harassing and abusing women, they’ll get fuming mad. But their hypocrisy shines with their “men-only spaces” and claim that men are always right because as Superman says “being wrong is for women”, and only women whine about equality because apparently men are logical and women are emotional.

The so-called logic really shows that misogynists care more about their fragile egos than they’d like to believe about feminists. Hence male entitlement and fragility go hand in hand regarding the rights of women. Keep in mind, when I say “feminists”, I’m specifically talking about women because in the minds of sexist men, only women can be feminists.

In short, using male supremacy/misogyny as a form of humor tells us the state we’re living in now.
