Millennium Goal #1 will fail in Africa

Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger, what an audacious ambition! It will never work, let us be honest and use the funds allocated to it for pleasure and games or women body exhibition, sponsor child soldier programs: that will be more ambitious.

Africans are meant to be poor. Maintain population in poverty is the best way to develop nations. Cote d’Ivoire is living a crisis since 2002. Half the country is not generating money-no taxes payment, no utility bills payment, no public administration- but the country is doing pretty well. Salaries are paid so people can go to club, eat and dance- that is all the population need. The world was hopping an election to change things and ensure economy recovery. But no, we do not need that. What we like is poverty and hunger. Today banks, insurance companies, airlines… are closed. The results are inevitable: increasing poverty, delinquency, less flow of money. Things are hard for middle class families and harder, let say unbearable for underprivileged classes. This is not new, or should not surprise anyone; it is what we need in Africa to develop. Anyway, salaries will be paid de we hear. And population are calm, as far as they can eat, drink and party there is no problem.
The political leaders around the world know it. Just find a way to maintain people in poverty- mental, social, intellectual, financial poverty- and you will rule them with ease.
Why do you think that between 2002 and 2008, 41 percent of the $178 billion in additional aid – calculated by comparing each year with a 2001 baseline - provided by wealthy donor nations in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development went to Iraq and Afghanistan alone, with the remainder shared out between 150 other developing countries, according to the report?
Why are rulers of this world –international, but mostly African governments- entertaining conflicts and war? It is the best way to develop illicit trade, open-up account and business in foreign countries and ensure a health of no pair for 100 years and more. And that is what Africa need.
Sirleaf put it in a very wonderful way: "In my own country, conflict has led to the squandering of rich mineral, agricultural, and human resources that should have benefited Liberia and its people. Although economic recovery has begun, it will take many years to recover from the destruction of infrastructure, the damage to businesses, and the loss of life and livelihood."

Empowering women is not good for Africa. Ojode Marren from Image work in rural areas is not to be encouraged because having “other trainers to assist impact the reach of other communities. It has given the women very high self-esteem and I see few of them working together and changing their life. When others see the few succeeding they become encouraged”
But the truth is that according to Kirsty Hughes, Oxfam's head of policy "The stark lesson from the last decade is that politicising aid during conflicts does more harm than good. Ill thought-out 'politicised' projects alienate the very people whose 'hearts and minds' they seek to win."
Why financing someone like Ojode in South Africa when her work will harm the well organized firm that serve interest of the nation and not the population.
The two “claiming presidents in Cote d’Ivoire” are very much aware tha the new development of this crisis brings along Inflation, debt and high unemployment, promotes income from natural resources going to private individuals, rather than being invested in the nation as a whole. But they are sure it is the best way to help their population.
Moreover people, especially women and children, die from the consequences of conflict than in the fighting itself and no one cares.
Only few are concerned that the reality of war might cost them, what peace might bring to them. But it is impossible to control or change nations mind but individual work is possible. So let’s lessen effort on educating population, raising awareness and the possibility to think positively. Let’s intoxicate population through media, pervert their views on subjects, entertain hate and give them some wad of money… then we will eradicate poverty and hunger.
