MIRROR OF SELF

Mirror of self

I come from a family blessed with technical skills. The science technology engineering and math (STEM) subjects has been an inert skill from my dad.  I remember when my two little brothers who were around 5 and 7 years then struggled for weeks to power our rural home with electricity in 1992. They assembled lots of wires, old vehicle batteries, dry cells name it and after weeks of trial and error finally oyaaaaaa our home was lit light light light all over for three hours or so. We screamed with joy, jumped and the lighting itself attracted the entire village to our home, that was a moment of moments. However, they couldn’t figure it out how to sustain it.... hehehehehe

Well, the story was not about my siblings. It is about TALENTS, I mean about ART. The creativity depicted by an artist always baffles me. While in Argentine for the Global People Health Assembly, I met a gracious lady; Lili Espinosa. After the hug she mentioned being an artist and that she will would love to draw me. You can imagine my reaction; it had never occurred to me to be drawn! Well I said yes. A day later Lady Lili came to me with the artistic 'mirror of myself'. What an honor, I was deeply touched. I looked at the ‘mirror of me’ and a thousand interpretations and questions ran through my mind: How do we radiate self in the world? What is the other person’s interpretation of you?  Looking at the art of me do I need to change any thing? The artist are indeed fabrics of our souls.

Thank you Lady Lili! Gracias!!

"If I were called upon to define briefly the word Art, I should call it the reproduction of what the senses preceive in nature, seen through the veil of the soul."~ Paul Cezanne
