I had the incredible privilege of visiting Petra, Jordan — one of the most awe-inspiring places on Earth. As I walked through the narrow Siq, leading to the iconic Treasury 🏛️, I was absolutely mesmerized. The rock-carved facades, the ancient engineering, and the sheer scale of the city left me speechless. But beyond the stunning visuals, what truly moved me was the warmth and resilience of the local community 💛.

However, something deeply heartbreaking is happening: tourism in Petra is on the decline 📉. Once a bustling hub full of life and visitors from around the globe, Petra now sees fewer and fewer travelers. The impact is devastating — not just for the site itself, but for the Bedouin communities who have lived there for generations and depend on tourism for their livelihoods.

During my time there, I met incredible people — local guides, artisans, and shopkeepers — who were eager to share their stories and culture 🌍. Their hospitality, passion, and hope were inspiring. But many shared with me their struggles to make ends meet as tourist numbers dwindle. Without our support, not only do their families suffer, but the preservation of Petra is also at risk ⚠️.
