LORNA LORRAINE VANHORNE

I Wrote this to my Mother in 2018 and i still feel the same way.

In honor of My Queen on her Birthday I repost in love.

I lost her in 2009 but she lives through my every breath.

This morning while reflecting,

i asked myself: can you recall the first time you saw your mother?

And i could not, she simply exists in my world then, now and forever!

She was my biggest cheerleader!

She would always stop what she was doing to hear my latest story, poem or song!

She would literally hype me up and say " you sound better than the stuff i hear on the radio" that was everything to me!!

She made me into this confident writer you know today! One Lorna Lorraine Vanhorne, my queenMother.

Its your birthday and even though you are not here physically you are here spiritually.

I never know I could miss someone so much. Some days I remember all the trouble I gave you and I cry because if I had known better then  I would never do anything to cause you pain.

I cry when I remember the long talks we had, particularly one about the future i wanted for myself.

At the time I wasn't listening because I knew everything and you didn't; only to find out you knew everything and I knew nothing at all.

How I wish you were here to talk to me now.

..how I wish I could curl up in your bed under your arm while you talk...

.I wasn't always obedient or patient with you and now looking back I am so sorry.

Thanks for everything I am the woman I am today because of you.

I'm crying now because all the things I wanted to do for you I never got the chance.

I'm happy I got to do some of the things I wanted to.

I know you are proud of me and I will continue to make you proud, I promise. Happy birthday Mommy love always.
