My Csection journey

I am a mother of five, each born through a c-section. Throughout my birthing journeys, I faced judgment and was labeled weak by some in society. They saw me as a point of reference for frailty, a sentiment that hurt deeply. My recovery was fraught with challenges: persistent back pain, numbness in my scar area, and the inability to close my jeans, forcing me to cover the open zipper with a big shirt.

At the gym, instructors pushed me to do exercises my body couldn’t manage, further reinforcing the societal judgment of my perceived weakness. It was devastating. Many c-section mothers I spoke with assured me that enduring such pain was normal, but I refused to accept that. Dependent on painkillers to manage my discomfort, I sought a solution that would truly alleviate this suffering.

This journey led me to herbal medicine. After extensive research into natural remedies, I formulated the C-Her Herbal Balm. This Ugandan-made balm is a natural remedy designed to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and promote deep tissue healing. It has been particularly beneficial for c-section mothers, helping to alleviate back pain and scar discomfort, and supporting overall postpartum recovery.

With this balm, I have reached out to over 300 women, helping them through their recovery processes. To address the mental stigma and stress associated with c-sections, we offer mental health classes and dance therapy sessions. These initiatives have created a supportive community for c-section mothers, helping them heal both physically and emotionally.

However, the rising number of c-sections in Uganda means that the demand for help is overwhelming. Despite the success stories and the satisfaction they bring, I am limited in my capacity to assist more mothers due to lack of funding. I have been self-funding this project, but the need is too great to continue alone.

With support, I could extend this life-changing assistance to many more mothers, helping them recover and reclaim their lives with dignity and strength. The impact of the C-Her Herbal Balm and our support programs is profound, and with additional resources, we can reach and support even more women in need.
