16 days of activism training Tuesday
I was driving home from another powerful event and i get this notification from world pulse that the training will be in 5 min so i decided to branch to a coffee shop that was around the Conner called java because they don't mind people doing zoom meetings while enjoying coffee logged in to the meeting right on time my sound system was causing trouble but things got better and was able to see and listen to the panelist.. it started with an introduction from our sister kirth , she gave out the highlight of this training Tuesday in simple terms that made me glued to my screen and wanting to know more now that it was my first training Tuesday event from my favorite website world pulse, as she was talking i was taking notes what she talked about were very important to share with others who would like to engage their community about GBV , sister kirth shared what 16 days of activism means to her ,she shares important tools that one can use to amplifies their agenda ,she explained them one after the other , that really made me understand the impotence of joining this meeting i can mention some 'story telling through sharing your stories , engaging with others who have the same passion as you , going offline to just listen to what others think outside the social media platform, make policies that favors everyone's and accommodate each and everyone that want to be included. kirth also talked about idea's you can use to engage with others they include setting up your intentions , educating others , collaborating with those who would like to join your activism,,support those who ask for need what really made me enjoy this session she explained each and every segments in a very simple way together with the host who was doing the sign language right on top of the screen event actually it attracted someone behind me and she ask me what the meeting was all about i had to tell her about world pulse ,kirth also shared sites you can click and read more about human right protections they include UNITE which she said its run by the united nation , i had that written down was going to read more about it later , she also caught my attention with CWGL site i had no idea about it and because i wanted to know more i had to go click the link and read more thank you for teaching me something new i never knew about . i also enjoyed the 10 action kit from kirth that was eye opener for me i can now do a professional activism with them , they include customized ideas ,engaging with the idea, building awareness, social media platforms , listening and learning and others ..i tell you meeting got juicier when she invited Harriet activist in Uganda who was a bused as a child , her story really touched me see her share what she has been through and still choose to talk about it as an activist is courage that most women wont do in fear of being judged at 28 she has mentor other women who suffer in silence to come out and speak . after the meeting i log in to world pulse straight to harries profile i can say thats courage .when she invited another amazing woman activism Aperna Nagesh sharing how she brings up her awareness through poetry I told myself thats ''wow' because we all love poetry she talked about looking at it at all angles , share with her community through community building it actually put a big smile on my face she went a head to say what 16 days of activism mean to her that was well explained i learned a lot. lastly sister kirth invited Tamaracks she called her Tam who powered the meeting by awesome nuggets of wisdom she shared the vision that we all need, the need of engaging with others , talking loud about violence against women through being as many voices as we can Tam your a sweetheart thank you for your wise words thank you for putting big smiles on our faces , thank you for your encouragement and invite to your zoom meeting i will be there count on me and others that learned a lot about 16 days of activism I also learn that as from 1991 more than 6,000 women have engage in 16 days of activism from over 187 countries i learn that yesterday that really means so much to me. joining world pulse have changed how i view things and how i engage with people around me . yesterdays meeting changed me , it taught me to always be humble and always believe in what I'm doing , because Harriet , aparna and tam made my evening i drove home thinking about that idea that has been in me but i was afraid of doing it because of fear of what others might think about me , joining this one hour training has changed me completely it has made me realize that if you don't come out to support others people what remember you with your big car , but people will remember you with what act of kindness you did out of will , out of compassion , out of empathy , the training also open my eyes to never stop speaking no matter what , support those who ask for help , engage with those who want to be included do a collaboration so you do a big activism to as many people as possible always educate others , make sure you share information with those who are not in social media platform they too need to know what is going on around them and for me 16 days of activism is lifting others and spreading the word to those who don't know about their right to life
