MY LETTER OF SOLIDARITY - KABUL WOMEN TO THE WORLD
Aug 24, 2021
story

Dear sisters at the other side,
I wish this were a letter to ask about your well-being and to share pleasantries, but, unfortunately it is not. This is a letter from your sister in Africa who doesn’t only sympathize with you at this most painful time but seeks to let you know that you are not alone in your moment of fear and anxiety.
As safe as many of us in other parts of the world may feel at this time, there can never be satisfactory safety when we have millions of our sisters living in fear and uncertainty in Afghanistan and several terrorist consumed parts of the world. As an injury to one, is an injury to all women in the world who are facing every form of brutality and subjugation.
As a sisterhood of the world pulse community, we cry out for the lives of these women and young girls who have spent years fighting to be emancipated and reconnected to the world. We stand with one voice, fists intertwined and hearts connected with one desire; the safety of our sisters!
No woman at this time can be content just because they are living in peaceful homes and environment. We connect with you; our Kabul sisters through prayers, petitions as a community and insistent awareness on the plight of the women refugees in the world.
As a member of LEA GLOBAL INITIATIVE in Nigeria, our goal is to support widows and young girls to harness their fullest potentials by developing skills in digital and non-digital spheres. As the pandemic evolves to an even greater phase, it is important for women to become independent and prepared for a new normal life. Likewise, as Afghanistan is experience a new phase of leadership that is fearful and worrisome more to our women; we must stand in sisterhood and raise our voices that the international community comes to the aid and support of women in Kabul and all other nations plagued with advanced levels of terrorism.
I stand with you sisters and the world pulse community stands with you as your story has become the eye opener to how women need to fight for their existence and safety in the coming future. This unfortunate global crises reveals an auspicious time where we will not keep quiet until the population of women living in fear plummets to the barest minimum.
My sisters in Kabul, stay strong, stand brave and always remember; you have sisters lighting candles for you.
Peace and Love
Suzan
