My Strength my Hope

My journey to help my community began with a life-changing encounter at the hospital where I worked as a nurse. One day, a 10-year-old girl walked in, asking for "ANC." As I spoke with her, it became clear that she had been sent by her aunt for antenatal care but had no idea what that meant or why she was there. Tears ran down my eyes because her story was so pathetic. This alarming situation revealed the severe lack of reproductive health education and resources in my community.

Deeply concerned and driven to make a change, I started researching and engaging with local families, schools, and community leaders to understand the scope of the issue. My findings revealed that many young girls and women in our community were unaware of essential reproductive health information and lacked access to critical services.

Realizing the urgent need for action, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I began organizing workshops and awareness campaigns, educating girls and women about their reproductive health rights and the importance of proper antenatal care. I also collaborated with healthcare providers to ensure that these services were more accessible and affordable for those who needed them.

As I continued my work, I witnessed the transformative impact that access to information and resources had on the lives of girls and women in my community. They became more empowered and confident in making informed decisions about their health and well-being, and I knew that I had found my calling.

Today, my commitment to improving reproductive health and empowering women in my community remains unwavering. This experience taught me the importance of taking initiative and being a catalyst for change, ensuring that no one is left behind or deprived of essential knowledge and care
