taking actions and inspiring change and for (67 )years he did it

ON 18th JULY of every year the world marks NELSON MANDELA international day by making a difference in our community. its a day of action and inspired change looking back at the struggle against apartheid and the campaign for Mandela , the UNUTED NATIONS plays important role for its first programmed for the commemorative Mandela Day in 2010.Mandela devoted his entire life to the service of humanity and as human right lawyer , a prison of conscience and international peacemaker and the first democratically elected president of a free SOUTH AFRICA who fought for social injustice for 67 years .this year theme is ' its still in our hands to combat poverty and equality . looking back at what my generation the GEN -Z is fighting for and the inhuman act done to them with the people that needed to protect them ,I remember my friend getting shot dead she is among the 50 that have made history in this country . I'm still traumatized with this she didn't deserve to die like that she was full of life and was rich of care and fighting for others and from that this' Mandela international day' my team and I are visiting the GEN- z that are in hospital nursing gun shot wounds and broken bones to show them that they are not alone but in it together we will also be donating sanitary pads for women and girls in the hospital because of security reason we doing it anonymously because we don't want to risk getting abducted or either get shot, beaten , sexually abused or killed like we have seen it on our streets. we will also be visiting families of the GEN -Z that have lost their young children from this historical moment while looking for change ,transparency and accountability it also wont be a public attention seeking event but anonymously because my country Kenya is back to killing spree, abduction ,threatening people with death and other bad things like rape, that I only grew up hearing my grand parents talk about police brutality and abductions and upholding the rule of laws how I took it for granted and even made fun of it not knowing decades to come I would witness this in the 22nd century the cycle continues' story for another day' after the visit we will be planting trees and a special tree for my fallen friend she was a sweetheart my heart is still broken deep down, I cant mention were because of fear of abductions and getting hurt we doing it anonymously dedicating them to all the 50 innocent souls that died on the hands of men in uniform I don't want to mention them because they might come for me and my family . this time I'm going to do event without my friend our 100,000 tree panting target is left for me to do it on her behalf i found myself thinking about her remembering her laugh and courage it hurt me ..yelp ! once we done with the tree planting event we will have a chat session for one hour reflecting on what's going on in our community and how the history has changed many people .I just realize that most people don't view politicians the same way I still thank free education in our schools and the technology it has all the information our grand parents never had.my Mandela day is going to be a special one just when I was writing this I got an invite from Mandela Washington program the event would have been in- person but because of the unrest in Kenya it will be virtual I cant wait to open up because this is going to be my 6th summit with them last year our donations went to children homes this year we doing chat therapy . also want to thank my home 'world pulse' for this amazing websites we can amplify our voices with courage. you also made my Mandela day special had a good/ bad day. the good part is I planted trees , had a chat with my group, we laughed so hard something we all needed we had fun and we had to forget about the PTSD that we all have as a country , the bad part was my friend missing from the event brought bad memories then her mother sends me a message that she miss her baby ( I cried), the injured folks we went to visit some will never walk again but they will need therapy to get back to normal life same to the folks that were abducted they are still traumatized from what the abductors did to them sad...! again the parents we visited put tears on our eyes! they haven't gotten over the death of their babies we had a group hug and cried together gave them rose as a symbol of love kindness care reminding them that they are not alone but we together in it there was a moment of silence among us! we cried and let it go but again it did not go !! it came back . thank you for making my day world pulse I still don't know where I would have said all this words ! you gave me a voice that I never knew I had saying it here has ease my tension and trauma partly! sharing my feelings with other members especially on a day that we celebrating an icon admired by may who fought for democracy for 67 years he never gave up his fight ,reading his history and all the trauma he went through gives me courage as a young person to continue fighting for change and better governance and accountability that favor's everyone not only the political class even though thats what most African leaders prefer.my Mandela day 2024 has taught me to be a giver always the more I'm blessed the more I build a long table that suits everyone always
