Nepal and its Struggles - our Struggles Too

I was a volunteer writer for an NGO called Development Dialogue ( also Initiative Nepal), maybe between 2010 and 2015, through UN Volunteers. I wrote a specific number of articles and was given a Certificate of Appreciation. I don’t know exactly how I ended up being an admin for their Facebook pages back then. I was on Blogger. I can’t even recall the name of the NGO personnel I interacted with years ago, but I shared my Blogger posts on their Facebook page.
I was aware of the plight of the marginalized in Nepal and wrote about them. My posts became fewer until I totally stopped when work became too busy to write articles. But I continued to get alerts on any activity on the pages.
A few days ago, I read that social media websites were blocked in Nepal, including Facebook. Hearing of the chaos Nepal is in now somehow made me sad (maybe we’re not that far from Nepal). These are people doing social initiatives to create awareness and help build a better life for their countrymen. They teach poor children who couldn’t afford an education, show the world how children as young as four or five were sucked into slavery by carrying heavy bricks for construction, hold medical missions for those who couldn’t afford medication, etc.
I checked out the website link. It doesn’t seem to exist anymore. I hope the people of Nepal are ok and will overcome their struggles to be a better nation, just as my own country now struggles to eradicate corruption and make it a better place to live in.
