Never again

Forever me

Poem

I can no longer carry the weight

Of who I have been

So I must let something end

Not my heartbeat, but the voice

That keeps calling me my failures

I wear the face loss

But some endings

Are beginnings in another language

Even the bird must leave a branch

Not because it stops loving it,

But because some places are meant to hold you

Until you remember you have wings.

I now walk through the fire

With my spirit finally rising

Above my fears

With hope of meeting my new self

Beyond the ashes.
