World Pulse and Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) are partnering to amplify YOUR stories and projects
From war zones to city streets, refugee camps to family homes, women everywhere are carrying urgent stories of what peace means — and what threatens it. Our stories and experiences are powerful dispatches from the frontlines of crisis, conflict, and everyday resilience.
This September, World Pulse and the World Pulse Research and Evaluation Group are proud to partner with the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) to launch a global call for stories as part of WPHF’s Peace Is campaign. Together, we are amplifying women’s voices on the frontlines of peacebuilding and ensuring they are heard by global audiences.
We want to hear from you: What does peace mean to you? And what must change to achieve it?
Why This Matters
Too often, discussions about peace are limited to political negotiations or high-level decisions. But peace is also personal. It is shaped by whether we feel safe in our homes, free from gender-based violence, able to walk our streets without fear, access justice in our communities, or protect our rights online.
Your stories help shift the global conversation. By sharing your lived experiences, initiatives, and visions for peace, you are part of a movement to redefine what peace looks like and to push for action.
How to Participate
Peace touches many aspects of women’s lives — from freedom from violence to meaningful participation, economic opportunity, community resilience, and more. What does peace mean to you?
Visit the Peace Is Call for Stories page to add your voice to the conversation. Whether you report from your daily life, tell us about your initiative, reflect on the peace you long for, or simply complete the statement “Peace is….” — your contribution matters.
Recognition and Opportunities
When you share your story or initiative by 31 October 2025, you’ll be considered for World Pulse Story and Initiative Awards! Honorees who are selected as Featured Storytellers or Featured Changemakers receive promotion on World Pulse and WPHF channels as well as honorariums between $100 and $300 USD.
Share early! If you submit your story by 15 October 2025, you’ll have a chance to be selected for a special opportunity.
Need some inspiration to get started?
Here are some ideas — but remember, any story you want to share on the topic will be considered.
• Describe what peace means to you on a daily basis, both on an emotional and a practical level. What moments of peace do you experience, and what kind of peace do you aim to achieve for yourself and your family at home?
• Report from your daily life. What have you seen, heard, or experienced recently that illustrates the challenges your community faces to achieving peace? Describe it in vivid detail.
• Tell us about a turning point. Was there a moment when violence, displacement, or injustice shifted your view of what peace means? Tell us about it.
• Shine a light on women’s realities. How are women and girls around you affected by conflict, insecurity, violence, or crisis? How do they resist, survive, or lead for peace?
• Describe what peace means to you on a daily basis, both on an emotional and a practical level. What moments of peace do you experience, and what kind of peace do you aim to achieve for yourself and your family at home?
• Offer recommendations. If you could share your story with global leaders, what would you want them to understand? What action do you believe is needed now to make peace attainable?
• Share your art and creative expressions. Poetry, illustrations, video, and audio submissions are welcome and encouraged!
• You can also document your Initiative for a chance to be a Featured Changemaker! If you are leading a project, advocacy effort, or community action related to peace, post an Initiative and tell us about your vision and your impact.
Add Your Voice and Vision
When you add your voice to the Peace Is… campaign, you’ll not only have the chance to be recognized for your story or project; together, our voices can influence how peace is understood and pursued globally.
