🌍✨ We’re thrilled, What a way to end October 2024✨

Our organization Centre for Women Empowerment in Technology (CWE-TECH) was featured in the Bloomberg series "The Future with Hannah"! 🎥. This particular episode, titled "Next Billion | The Future With Hannah Fry," explores the imminent arrival of another billion individuals online, predominantly from developing countries like Africa. It raises critical questions about how these new users will leverage technology to enhance their lives and the implications for the global community (Source: Bloomberg).

CWE-TECH is committed to bridging the gender gap in technology and fostering a more equitable world by providing access to technological resources. Our initiatives aim to create a positive ripple effect, significantly impacting socio-economic programs for women, girls, and youth.

CWE-TECH has been carrying out various activities integrated by digital technologies:

1)Wiring engineering for girls

-CWE-TECH partners with Digital Empowerment Foundation India to train young women on Wireless Engineers, under the programme dubbed: Community Information Resource Centre. This is done online

2)Youth and tech through Ajira program

-CWE-TECH is collaborating with the Ajira; a government program which is to equiping the youth with the skills necessary to generate employment opportunities and earn income online.

3)Basic skills tech skills for women agripreneurs

CWE-TECH is imparting digital savings and book keeping skills on women groups of Ramula HIV Support Group and Kakumu Widows of Kabondo, Homa Bay County. Also introducing them to sell their products online.

4)Trainings and webinars on harnessing ecommerce

-CWE-TECH is also engaging the youth on basic computer skills; coding and application development as mitigation measures to keep girls constructively occupied, informed of their sexual and reproductive health rights and to learn essential tech skills that can even be used sustainably to encourage girls to pursue technology careers

5) Windows to the World

-CWE-TECH has collaborated with Power for the People Africa (PFP) to launch a digital literacy initiative titled 'Windows to the World' in Remba Island Homa Bay County. This program aims to enable students and educational institutions to incorporate computers into their learning processes and to foster collaboration with other schools both within Kenya and internationally.
