Building collapsed due to earthquake in Myanmar

Myanmar, We Mourn With You. Our Prayers Are With You.

The ground shook, and in a moment, over 2,000 plus lives are lost already. Families torn apart. Homes reduced to rubble. A nation already struggling now faces another unimaginable tragedy.

The daily news, short videos, the screams, the cries I hear on the internet leave me speechless and make me weep so hard. The pain is unbearable.

The destruction is too much. Not only has this earthquake taken lives, but it has also scarred the land itself—collapsing buildings, destroying forests, cutting off water supplies, and leaving communities vulnerable to hunger and disease. The land, once full of life, now carries the weight of sorrow.

To the people of Myanmar, the world sees your pain. The weight of this disaster is heavy, but you are not alone. We cannot begin to understand the depth of your pain, but our hearts mourn with you.

To the mothers searching for their children, to the fathers holding back tears as they dig through debris, to the children who have lost everything, your sorrow is not unnoticed.

In times like these, words feel empty. May comfort find those who mourn, may strength lift those who have lost everything, and may love remind you that even in this darkness, you are not forgotten.

Myanmar, please be still. Receive life back. Let this earthquake cease. This is too much.

God bless and strengthen the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and all other Organizations assisting, risking their lives to bring aid, hope, and relief.

We stand with you. 💔💔🙏🏽🙏🏽
