Our Stories Are TOO SACRED for AI

Here are some of the journals I've used through the years.
Whenever I click on a story on World Pulse, I prepare my heart. You probably know that feeling when you're about to read something that might inspire you, empower you, or mirror your hidden scars.
It's a life-changing experience to feel connected to another woman's story from different parts of the world.
I recently noticed some posts here.
The sentences are perfect, but oddly...familiar.
I could immediately recognize the patterns of AI-generated phrases I see every day across digital platforms:
“It was not just about….it was about…,"
"It isn't just about..., it's about..."
“No [this], no [that], just…”,
And so on.
The stories are still compelling to read, but the AI-heavy sentences made it difficult for me to connect to the author.
I scrolled to another story.
Same thing. Clean structure, polished language, good grammar, but something is missing.
It's the author’s authentic voice.
With the heavy use of AI, some World Pulse stories sound the same, generic, and almost robotic.
AI has robbed these storytellers of their own style, tone, and elegance.
And I felt heartbroken. 💔
It brings me back to my own story on World Pulse, when I wrote in the wee hours of dawn, while my husband and children were sleeping.
It was a post on how we survived a deadly typhoon.
I vividly remember the intensity of my emotions back then. My hands were shaking, my tears were pouring, and my writing was all over the place.
Messy. Raw. Genuine.
That story unlocked the doors of isolation for me and connected me to the amazing World Pulse sisters all over the world.
They cried with me. They acknowledged my fear, and they encouraged me to write more.
And the more I wrote, the more deeply I connected with World Pulse sisters.
That was the moment I finally found my voice.
This Is the Power of Our Stories
Dear World Pulse sisters,
As women, we’ve been encouraged to “speak even if your voice shakes”, and thousands of brave women have spoken on this platform after years of silence and isolation.
On World Pulse, we found refuge and broke our silence. As we share our stories, we form connections even before we physically meet each other.
That's why I'm disheartened to discover that the rise of AI is once again silencing the voices of women.
With AI, our authentic voices have been polished so much that they now sound the same. It stripped our stories of the raw, soulful, and beautiful details of our lives, scenarios, and metaphors only we can tell.
It's okay to aim for a perfect piece, but don't allow AI to bury your voice. Let us not hide behind the tool that has no idea of the pain we’ve gone through.
If you’ve used AI to help shape your words, that’s okay. But don’t let it replace your story’s heart and soul.
Your voice deserves to lead…and ROAR!
It deserves to be heard to awaken unjust systems that have limited women.
Sure, AI helps us accomplish tasks fast. It can help us code, create designs, and research in minutes instead of days.
But when it comes to writing our stories, let's not depend on AI to write for us.
Because AI doesn’t bleed when it writes about gender-based violence.
It doesn’t cry when it generates stories of loss, trauma, discrimination, or oppression.
It can’t feel the warmth of a sister's encouragement and empathy.
It can't fathom the sting of injustice in a sister’s bones.
But you do.
And that is why your voice matters.
And that is why your story is sacred.
You have something that AI can never generate, no matter how advanced it becomes.
Women Have Been Silenced Long Enough
For centuries, women’s stories have been pushed aside.
We were told to stay quiet.
To be small.
To smile and submit when we want to speak out!
Generations of women before us were robbed of their voices because society decided their truths were inconvenient.
But here we are now on World Pulse, a powerful platform where we can express our voices freely, fully, and finally!
Will we really hand that hard-won freedom to AI, just to be minimized again?
Dear sisters, our silence should be broken with our own voices, even if our soul breaks in the process of writing our stories.
This is our legacy.
This is our gift to the generations after us.
So they can read our stories and feel their hearts beat in rhythm with ours.
So they can feel our soul, experience our pain, and celebrate the battles we’ve overcome.
So they can recognize the power of an authentic voice.
Let’s not give them something artificial.
Let’s give them stories filled with life, even if we write them with trembling hands, falling tears, and breaking hearts.
Because with each raw, unfiltered narrative, we reveal something RARE that AI can never share. Each of us is one in a million, and there's beauty in our differences.
I once wrote,
"As women...our beauty lies in our ability to give life—biologically, or through our artwork, our careers, our ministries, or our advocacies. Our beauty lies in our talents, whether we are able-bodied or differently abled. Our beauty lies in our skin, whether it is brown or black or yellow or red.
The world would be dull if there were no diversity in humanity, or if the colors in a rainbow were only green and violet.
Let us embrace our uniqueness and beauty, and let us stop apologizing for our skin color, our height, our weight, our civil status, our menstrual cycles, our moods, or our birth stories—or our lack of a birth story.
We are flowers that bloom in the plains, up in the mountains, along the rivers, within the rainforests, in the deserts, and under the vast ocean. We complement the roses in a garden of flowers.
Let us bloom as daisies, chrysanthemums, tulips, petunias, irises, lavender, lilac, sunflowers, orchids, lilies, dandelions, poppies, sampaguita, edelweiss, marigolds…
Let us celebrate our differences; let us celebrate and bloom together."
So World Pulse sisters, listen to my ROAR!!!
Let us write our truth, no matter how messy it is.
Let us share our journey, no matter how slow and long it takes to finish the story.
Let us raise our voice even when we lack the words to express it perfectly.
Because each of our stories is worth reading. This is our weapon for empowerment.
Let us not let AI dull or diminish our story’s power, or make it sound like everybody else’s.
Only WE can tell the story we endured and experienced.
Only WE remember how each scene and plot felt.
Our stories are TOO SACRED to be written by AI.
Our stories are SO UNIQUE, and they can only be lived, wept through, breathed, healed, survived, and told…
