Part 2: A Friendship Beyond Riches

My Dearest World Pluse Readers,

I know it’s been a while since I shared my stories with you — and yes, I’m late, but I couldn’t hold back any longer! It’s 3:19 in the morning, and as I lie awake, sleepless yet filled with emotions, my heart urged me to continue the tale of Krishna and Sudama — the story of divine friendship that touches the soul.

When Sudama arrived at Krishna’s palace, the Lord Himself welcomed His childhood friend with a shower of flowers and endless love. Krishna, the King of Dwaraka, washed Sudama’s feet with His own hands, treating him not as a poor Brahmin, but as the most precious soul He knew.

He asked His attendants to replace Sudama’s torn clothes with royal garments, making him comfortable and honored. Overwhelmed with emotion, tears rolled down Sudama’s eyes — he never imagined such love from his dearest friend.

Soon, Krishna offered him a grand meal, served by His royal maids. Sudama, speechless and humbled, couldn’t stop crying at the unexpected affection and humility of Krishna.

After the meal, both friends sat down to reminisce about their childhood. Krishna, ever so observant, noticed Sudama hiding something shyly. With a gentle smile, He said,

“I feel Bhabhi Ji has sent some gift for me — perhaps something delicious?”

Sudama hesitated, embarrassed by his small offering — a handful of rice tied in a piece of cloth. But Krishna accepted it with pure joy, declaring it to be “the most precious gift ever received.” He ate the rice lovingly and even shared it with Rukmini, the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi herself.

Hours passed in laughter and memories, and soon it was time for Sudama to leave. Only then did Krishna realize that, lost in friendship, He had forgotten to ask the reason behind Sudama’s visit.

“Tell me, my dear friend,” Krishna asked gently, “what brings you to Dwaraka?”

Sudama, filled with devotion and peace, softly replied,

“I came only to see you, my friend. I seek nothing more.”

He left with a heart overflowing with love and gratitude. That is what true friendship means — love without expectation, and connection without condition.

As I write this, my eyes are brimming with tears. Some of us are lucky to experience such friendships, while some, like me, have lost dear ones due to our own negligence.

Yet, I feel blessed to have you — my loving World Pulse community, who always encourages me to write, share, and heal through these timeless stories.

Friendship is not measured by how long it lasts, but by how deeply it touches our hearts. 💛

Yours
