Poem:" Silhouette's Journey"

story
SILHOUETTE’S JOURNEY
Bully Boy and Silhouette lived together
Silhouette flagged up her family
She managed a ‘phone booth’
Bully Boy was an absentee landlord
Lived in his own home like a thief
Every day, Silhouette received a stream of abuses from her husband
He savagely licked her sweat
And her pockets ran dry
She stood in the streets and cried out loud: “Help ME out!”
The Advocate heard her cry
Summoned the couple for mediation
Hey, Bully Boy threatened and attacked even stronger
The Advocate roared
Bully Boy became WANTED
A fortnight and the bulldogs offered victim support
Silhouette this time cried out: “Help US out!”
The Advocate empowered her
She was strong, she gained girl power
Concerted and Bully Boy was kept behind bars
Five hard days of reflection
Ah! Tears visibly streamed down Bully Boy’s heart, eyes and ears
As he struggled to see clearly into the future
Silhouette lightened up
As she embraced her man into the NEW.
