Pursuing My Dream of Counseling Psychology to Better Serve My Community

My passion for studying counseling psychology was ignited when I began working as a mentor in the Binti Shupavu program at CWE-TECH in partnership with Daring Girls. In this role, I listened to many young girls share their stories, some so heartbreaking that I wished I had the right training to give them the support they needed. It was in those moments that I realized how much impact professional counseling could make, and my dream of going back to school became clear.
You may wonder, why go back to school now? After completing high school ten years ago, I was unable to join college because my parents could not afford the fees while supporting two other children in school. I took on whatever jobs I could find to help myself and my family, but deep in my heart, I always knew I wanted to return to school. Today, with a strong conviction, I know that counseling psychology is the course that aligns with my calling.
Over the years, I have prepared myself through several trainings—an intensive leadership course, virtual assistant training, mentorship training, and most recently, a trauma counseling training with Tafara Wellness. Through CWE-TECH programs, I have seen firsthand how urgently mental health resources are needed in our communities. This only fuels my desire to go further and become a voice and a resource for mental health support.
This year, I was delighted to be accepted into Pan African Christian University to pursue a Diploma in Counseling Psychology. Unfortunately, financial constraints have placed me on the verge of deferring my studies, and I am seeking scholarship or sponsorship opportunities to make this dream possible.
For my first year, I need $932, with the first semester requiring $370.

This journey is not just about me. By equipping myself with the right skills, I will be able to better serve the girls I mentor, my community, and, God willing, many people beyond my borders. Your support will have a ripple effect that extends far beyond one life; it will touch many.
Thank you for believing in education, in mental health, and in the power of one person to create change.
