Dear VOF graduates!
We wanted to reach out to you to address some questions that have been raised with the recent invitation letter to VOFCN that was sent out. First of all, we appreciate all your questions and comments!
We want to assure you that we are working on an FAQ to address questions, confusions, and concerns in-depth. As always, we are committed to providing you a safe space to speak out about the issues that are important to you.
VOFCN was created in part because of the requests we received from you for continuing education, and as a way to give VOF graduates a space to gather and support each other, continue networking, and to present you as leaders on PulseWire as a way to mark your amazing participation in and completion of the VOF program.
Participation in the VOFCN is on a volunteer basis. We would love it if you choose to be part of this group, as it gives you a way to continue to connect, network and share your stories and voices with the PW community, and allows you to continue to develop your leadership skills post-VOF. We loved hearing from you during VOF and we would love to keep hearing more through VOFCN!
The invitation letter that was sent out, however, was a little unclear and we apologize for that. We are currently revising the letter of invitation to more clearly reflect what the VOFCN is, and what we hope your role will be within this group. You can also find a great description about VOFCN on the program page. Additionally, please always feel comfortable to send your questions and concerns to the team, and we will do our best to address them.
In our invitation letter, we asked that you self-publish on PW at least once per month. We hope that you will continue to be active on this group and in your PulseWire journal, but this is not a requirement and we apologize for making it sound like it was. We are not specifying the type of postings you make. You can choose to do a journal entry, write a story, and op-ed, or post an interview, but the choice is up to you what to post and whether to post!
Our editors use PulseWire as our online community newswire. Stories that are self-published on PulseWire, either independently or through VOFCN, will be considered for publication in our print magazine or on WorldPulse.com. We will always ask permission before publishing your story, and you will always have the right to decline publication. World Pulse pays a standard writers fee for content that we pick up from PulseWire to publish in print and on the web.
We hope that this answers some of your questions and concerns. It has been a marvelous journey working with you through VOF, and we hope to continue this relationship through VOFCN.
Kind regards,
Rachael
