Rape till death

Rape till death

Recent Commonwealth Human Rights report shows that in India 1 woman is being raped in every two hours. Other reports suggest that 1 out of 10 cases are usually reported here. So the actual number is higher than the documented or surveyed one. Rape and murder and the mutilation of the victim’s body are increasing in numbers. Cases of acid attacks are also increasing. Rape of a woman does not only mean forceful invasion of her body by one or more people. It is something more heinous, more deep-rooted act of crime. A rape is the violation of some ones basic right to life with dignity. A rape crushes ones soul and heart. A rape inflicts the feeling of fear, rejection and humiliation in the victim’s mind. In a feudal society like India women are nothing more than an object of lust. Either you can possess one of them or acquire others by force. The term force has been always glorified in different mythological and religious stories. It is said that mighty and powerful enjoys the Mother Nature. Masses never care to interpret this phrase in the way Darwin once gave his famous theory of survival of the fittest. They love to acquire everything by force. They cannot respect beauty and freedom. Rape has become the integral part of Indian culture. We have raped our rivers, made them filthy and poisonous. In the name of development hills, forests, lakes and natural habitats all have been denied the care, love and respect they deserved. Is not it rape of their soul? In a society where vested interest runs every business there it is impossible to protect the respect of weaker section. So the rape of Indian women, children, wild life and nature and of course tribal people will be a continuous story unless we are changing the whole system here. Till then it is our request to the human hearts (not the fake human faces) pray for us and be with us.
