Reducing food waste!

Hey!
For my final post on this initiative, I wanted to share some ideas on reducing food waste!
Let's go!
1- Make smoothies!
Any old fruit that is going off can be made into a smoothie! When it's all blended up you won't taste any mushy bits!
2 - Banana Bread
If your bananas are going brown you can bake them into banana bread and extend their use by date!
3- Coffee grounds
If you have spare coffee grounds or coffee that has expired sprinkle it onto your plants to help encourage their growth! You can also gift it to friends and family if you are not a gardener and know someone who is!
4 - Buy reduced food items when shopping
Most supermarkets have a reduced section with food that is past its sell-by date. Not only is this food cheaper but you can prevent it from going to waste by choosing this over fresh!
5 - Give old veggies to your pets
If your dogs are like mine they will eat ANYTHING! Doggies love veggies :) (check your dogs allergy needs first though!)
6 - Make a soup!
For other foods like veggies and herbs mix them up into a soup instead of throwing them away!
7- Be creative at meal times!
Instead of going out to buy new food, try and use what you have in the fridge soon - see what random creations you can come up with
