Report on the Menitos Back to School 2025 Initiative

The Menitos Back to School 2025 initiative, which began in July, successfully provided essential educational support to students in the Agege area. The project was structured around two key components: an essay competition and the distribution of school supplies.

Essay Competition

In collaboration with Education District 1, an essay competition was held to encourage academic excellence. Winners and runners-up received both material and monetary prizes, thanks to the generosity of our key partners.

The first prize of ₦50,000 was sponsored by a member of our working board, Mr, Femi Ladele, an exceptional humanitarian.

The second prize of ₦20,000 was sponsored by the Rotaract Club of Kingsfarm.

An additional group of students who tied for second runner-up received consolation prizes, including a math set, tote bags from Drug Free World, and Menitos String Bags. All remaining participants, tagged as "qualifiers," were rewarded with 16 notebooks each, which included two 80-leaf notebooks.

School Supply Distribution

A total of 50 primary school students were nominated by the HOS School Support, who highlighted the urgent need for school bags, as many students were carrying their books in polythene bags. We were able to fulfill this request by providing each student with a school bag. Furthermore, primary 6 pupils received Common Entrance Past Questions to help them prepare for their exams.

Panel Discussion and Recognition

A significant part of the event was a panel discussion focused on educational and career guidance. The panel included distinguished representatives from various educational and vocational institutions:

  1. Lagos State NABTEB Liaison Office
  2. Government Technical College, Agidingbi
  3. Foresight Vocational Institute, Ikeja
  4. Authentic Konsult, Iyana Ipaja
  5. The head of all principals in Education District 1

Special Appreciation awards were presented to Superintendent of Narcotics Fatima Dauda and the Education Secretary for Agege LGEA, Comrade Mrs. Catherine Ogunyomi, JP, in recognition of their valuable support.

Financial Summary

The initiative was funded through a combination of local and international donations, as well as significant community support.
