Collaboration
Dear World Pulse sisters and allies,
It’s been a while, and it feels incredibly powerful to be back in this vibrant, purposeful community.
I joined World Pulse in 2009 and was actively involved in welcoming new members, storytelling, and representation. However, life and leadership commitments pulled me away and since I returned to Nigeria from the United States, I haven’t been active here. But I never left in spirit.
Today, I return with renewed purpose and with a cause that is deeply personal and professionally grounded. Amongst many other milestones, I founded Safe Haven Foundation, a nonprofit committed to reducing domestic and sexual violence in Nigeria. We provide legal advice and representation; emergency shelter and psychosocial support; advocacy, research, and policy reform initiatives (www.safehaven-foundation.org). We believe that survivors deserve not just safety, but dignity, justice, and a real chance to thrive.
As I reconnect with World Pulse, I am reminded of the power of global sisterhood and solidarity. I am reaching out to invite partnerships and collaboration with organizations, leaders, and advocates in Nigeria and internationally working on sexual and gender-based violence, shelter management, legal empowerment of women and girls and trauma-informed survivor care.
Whether you are running programs, hosting safe spaces, conducting research, or building policy, I would love to connect.
Please feel free to reach out here on World Pulse, or via mailto:fatima@safehaven-foundation.org
I look forward to sharing, listening, and building together again.
