RISE AGAIN ... A Poem To Encourage

Rise Again

by Ruth Howard (copyright 2016)

I have learnt to fully embrace life and all of its agony

It never runs me dry, it never leaves me empty

I count myself a blessed woman in the presence of adversity

It unleashes fierce resolve and births nuclear power within me

If I should stop and think of all the times I've grown the most

Persecution, desperation, affliction were almost always the hosts

Growth and change do come, but they come at a very great cost

Hindsight teaches the gain of suffering always outweighs the loss

My tears nourish my resilience. I weep. I rise. I'm better

My fears, once conquered, ignite a woman with the heart of a warrior

I fight. I win. I fight again. I never come undone.

Indomitable. Broken. Unafraid. Ignorance lost. Wisdom won.

I see you struggling now in agony's path. You think this is your end.

Mark my words: I know this cycle. I promise, you'll rise to win again.
