Rising from Setbacks: Rebuilding Dreams for Underprivileged Youth
Last year was one of the hardest chapters in my journey. Due to financial constraints, we were forced to close one of our ICT centers—an initiative that had been a beacon of hope for underprivileged and unemployed youth. This center, alongside the one dedicated to our schoolchildren, was more than just a space; it was a gateway to opportunities, a bridge between despair and a brighter future.
Letting it go was heartbreaking. My team and I had poured our hearts into creating a safe haven where dreams could take root and grow. But sometimes, even your best efforts aren’t enough. Time was not on our side, and I faced health challenges that made it impossible to secure the funds needed to keep the center running. Watching that door close was like losing a piece of my soul.
But in every setback lies the seed of a comeback. The closure of the ICT center was not the end of our dream—it was a pause, a moment to gather strength, and a test of our resilience. Alhamdulillah, today, I am overjoyed to share that we have reopened the center. It wasn’t easy. There are still challenges to overcome, but I am confident that with faith, determination, and teamwork, we will rise above them.
We have also taken on an ambitious new project: training 1,000 unemployed youth in essential ICT skills. Already, 100 students have completed their training, and their stories of hope and transformation remind us why we began this journey in the first place.
This experience has taught me that setbacks are not failures but stepping stones. They remind us of the importance of perseverance and the strength of community. To my team, our supporters, and everyone who believes in the power of change—thank you for standing with us. Together, we will continue to light the path for those who need it most.l
