Rising From Shadows: Finding Myself, Finding Strength

For years, I didn’t know who I was. In second and third grade, I was the quiet girl in the corner, the one no one noticed, the one no one wanted to be friends with—and honestly, I barely noticed myself either.

I was bullied, judged, and left behind. By eighth grade, I faced experiences I never imagined—sexual harassment that shook me to my core. I questioned my worth, my place in this world, and whether I could ever rise again.

In ninth and tenth grade, I still didn’t know what it meant to care for myself. I struggled with studies, came from a financially struggling family, and watched others around me thrive while I felt invisible. I was heartbroken, betrayed by those I trusted, and body-shamed for being thin. My confidence was broken, my spirit bruised.

But then, slowly, I began to grow. In 2023, something clicked. I discovered my potential through my IELTS journey—and realized that yes, I can achieve, I can shine, I can help others rise too.

Today, I am a proud IELTS instructor. I guide students, support their dreams, and have a growing circle of well-wishers who celebrate their successes alongside mine. I have witnessed dreams come true—the moments when a student succeeds, when a voice finds its power, when confidence blooms. And in that, I found myself too.

I speak publicly with pride. I write poems that turn my thoughts into inspiration. I embrace my natural beauty, my flaws, my strengths. Those who doubted me now follow my journey, but it’s never about proving them wrong—it’s about proving to myself that I am enough.

To anyone reading this who feels small, unseen, or broken: your past does not define you. Your hardships are not the end of your story—they are the soil from which your strength will grow. Believe in your voice, nurture your potential, and never stop reaching.

I know who I am now. I know my dreams. I will continue to guide, teach, mentor, and inspire. And I want you to know—you can too.

Rise. Speak. Shine. Your story is waiting to be written, and it will be beautiful.
