Rising with Skills: Youth Empowerment Through NSDA Certification and Innovation in Bangladesh

In Bangladesh, the NSDA (National Skills Development Authority) certification has become a national standard for ensuring quality in vocational and technical training. For youth from marginalized communities, this certification is more than a piece of paper—it is a bridge to dignity, opportunity, and hope.

Last Friday, 60 students from the Sombhabona ICT Training Program appeared for the NSDA Level-1 Certification Exam in Computer Operation, and an incredible 98.8% passed.

These students are part of a free training initiative implemented by Sombhabona, in partnership with Muslim Aid, supported by the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), and in collaboration with Everest IT. Most of them come from underprivileged backgrounds, where access to digital education is limited or non-existent. This certification is not just a milestone—it is a turning point.

Now, these young minds are ready for the next step. That’s why we’re proud to launch a new Internship Program through the Sombhabona Innovation Hub — a space where certified students can gain hands-on experience, enhance their skills, and work on real-life projects. The Innovation Hub serves as a platform for learning, freelancing, and nurturing entrepreneurship among youth, especially girls and those often left behind in the digital revolution.
