Say no to silence

For a long time, I believed that silence was strength. I grew up in a community where girls were taught to stay quiet, to accept, to adjust. Whenever I faced difficulties—whether it was academic pressure, personal struggles, or even the subtle ways society clipped my wings—I carried it all inside me.

But silence is heavy. It weighs down the heart. It was only when I began sharing my story with other women, in small safe circles, that I realized my voice was not a burden but a bridge. Each time I spoke about my struggles with self-doubt, my journey through education, or the courage it took to say “no” to unfair expectations, another woman would nod and say, “Me too.”

That moment changed me. I saw that speaking up doesn’t just heal the speaker—it creates ripples that give others courage.

Today, I am no longer afraid of using my voice. I write, I share, and I advocate for women’s mental well-being, because I have learned that change begins with conversation. One story can unlock another, and together, our stories weave strength.

My journey is far from over, but I know one truth: silence does not protect us—voice does.
