Say no to violation against any child

I saw her video going around, it was a day after bandits attacked a village and killed women and children in a community on 23rd May 2019. The last time something like this happened was some years back. She is just a very young adolescent girl and she seemed so strong as she narrated how her mother and brothers were shot and killed. No shed of tear but one thing was so clear the so much pain she was trying to fight inside. So young and innocent, her father passed away some years back and now her only parent, hope, source of strength and income is brutally murdered. The question is, what will happen to her now? The same night three pupils and two women were killed.  We always discuss about school dropouts, teenage pregnancies, child juveniles, drugs among children and how current generation of children in our society is worse than another but maybe we forget one thing; the failures in our systems, careless politicians in the name of leaders, the mistakes of rogue adults, criminals or maybe mentally retarded who feel so happy in pulling triggers to children, happily make them orphans, hopeless and create a mess out of their lives.

Sometimes I ask myself whether enough is being done to protect children, where are the universal policies and child protection units. What is the role of child protection officers in different organizations and countries?  I think children especially those of vulnerable/pastrolist background need to learn more on their rights and the laws that govern their protection. Every community member should also be informed of the seriousness/importance of those laws and the possible outcome of violation.  Anybody who hurts a child/violates that rights especially to life and survival needs to be apprehended and given the punishment that he really deserves. Everybody needs to stand up and say no to any violation against children.

Finally, I just remembered a photo going round sometimes back on Facebook about a child informing his killer that “he will tell God everything once he reaches heaven” before he was shot. I don’t know how true that is but it speaks a lot about the unfortunate situations of children in some areas and how innocent they are. I hope the young girl will be safe, that her own mother’s killer will not come after her and the children killed will go the heaven, and tell God everything for anybody that kills a child should face the wrath of not only human but the creator.
