Together we can
Dear Beloved Sisters on World Pulse,
Warm greetings to each of you, wherever you are in the world. I hope this message finds you well and thriving. I carry you all in my heart and am constantly inspired by the work, love, and strength you each bring to your communities. It’s an honor to walk this journey with you.
Today, I write with both urgency and hope.
In my community here in Kenya, we are currently supporting 43 vulnerable children to stay in school through Heha Kenya, a grassroots initiative I founded. Among them are 10 courageous girls in secondary school who are facing immediate challenges with school fees and access to basic learning materials like stationery and sanitary towels.
These girls had once dropped out of school, many forced into transactional sex through the painful sex-for-fish trade a harsh reality in the fishing communities around Homa Bay. But through our sexual reproductive and mental health program, they found the courage to return to school, reclaiming their right to education and dignity.
While we celebrate the progress of two girls who have now secured full sponsorship from a kind World Pulse sister, 10 still remain in need. These girls are full of dreams, intelligence, and potential but without support, they risk returning to unsafe environments, early marriages, or permanent dropout.
We are not funded by institutions. Everything we do is powered by love, personal sacrifice, and the generosity of people like you people who believe in one girl, one future at a time.
I’m reaching out to ask:
Would you consider sponsoring a girl or sharing this need within your networks?
Even a small contribution can cover school supplies, a term’s tuition, or sanitary care for a month. If you can’t support financially, sharing this message with friends, family, or colleagues might connect us with someone who can.
I also dream of establishing a small office space for Heha Kenya just a place where we can coordinate, meet, and support the girls more effectively. Any donation material or financial towards this goal would be deeply appreciated.
If you ever feel called to visit, our doors and hearts are wide open. I would love for you to see the strength of these girls, the resilience of widows, and the beauty of what we are building together from the ground up.
Let’s continue being the light for each other. Together, we can uplift lives and rewrite stories.
With love, hope, and deep gratitude,
N/B per child school fees yearly is USD 1150.
