Dear wonderful ladies,
Let me being by asking you a simple question - have you ever read a woman 's story and felt like \" She is me, I am her \"? I am sure you must have felt this at some point in your life.
I was scrolling on instagram and came across a post that gave information about Meghan Markle's first book titled \" A face without freckles is like a night without stars\". When I read the title, I instantly felt nice. It gave me a power to feel amazing about myself. This was my \" She is me, I am her\" moment.
Remember how flawed our beauty standards used to be? ( they still are but there's a lot of changes that has come over the years) A so called \"perfect woman\" should be slim, medium height, fair with big eyes. Sadly not every woman on this earth fits these criteria. And just like most of them I dont fit the criterias either. But that doesn't mean that you and I are not pretty or beautiful. So what if I am skinny wayyyy toooo much and so what if you are chubby? So what if I have freckles and you have acne marks? That's our body after all. We can't alter it and go to God and say\" Hi I am unhappy with my body because I don't fit the beauty standards \". And why should we even have thoughts of altering it? Just because we see pretty women on instagram and feel that we are less than them? No darling! You are beautiful in every moment - when you are fresh out of bed, when you are playing a sport, when you are cooking, when you are studying or when you are carrying a child inside you.
Now here's what I want you to do, irresepictive of whether you are a mum or not. Never ever tell stories like Snow White, Beauty and the beast etc. because these promote fairness and weak women . My parents never recited me these stories. Tell stories of real women, women that are leaving a mark. I need not tell you the names you all know them already. And yes dont forget to tell him /her your own story.
Post pandemic, I hope that any woman who has thought of something, she is able to achieve it. I hope she inspires me and countless girls and women out there.
I know whatever I have written, isn't something new. But I thought of giving you a reminder!
So girls and ladies out there, you are BEAUTIFUL! And like I said you are me, I am you
