Shes safe

Learn from other peoples experinces

She’s Safe is a tech-enabled social enterprise designed to address the underreporting of crime and gender-based violence (GBV) in Kenya and other African countries. Survivors, especially women, girls, and marginalized communities, face barriers such as fear of stigma, lack of trust in authorities, limited access to reporting channels, and complex reporting procedures. These gaps lead to persistent violence, unsafe communities, and insufficient data for policy-making.

She’s Safe provides anonymous and accessible reporting via USSD (offline, no internet required), a web platform with verified crime maps, and a mobile app (in development). Verified reports are shared with community stakeholders and survivors are referred to aftercare services such as counseling, legal aid, and shelters.

Key features include real-time mapping, NLP-driven categorization of incidents, repeat pattern detection, safety alerts, and community sensitization campaigns. The platform empowers users to report safely, increases transparency, and generates actionable insights for NGOs, researchers, and local authorities.

She’s Safe aims to reach 100,000 beneficiaries by expanding county-wide in Kenya and eventually across East Africa. Through partnerships, CSR sponsorships, and data subscriptions, She’s Safe is building a sustainable, scalable solution that promotes safety, awareness, and empowerment in vulnerable communities.
