Sisters in Progress Mentorship Circle

Where young women rise with purpose, courage, and intention.

In many campuses, girls face endless pressure to party, to belong, to post recklessly online, to fit into groups that don’t always reflect their true selves. But I chose a different path. A path shaped by purpose. A path lit by the future I dreamt of.

Not because I am perfect, but because I carried a quiet promise to myself:

“I will not sabotage the woman I want to become.”

That promise changed everything.

During a conference I attended, I met Purity Wambui — a girl with a vision as bright and disciplined as mine. Our conversation flowed effortlessly, as if we had been waiting to meet each other all along. We shared dreams, struggles, ambitions, and then something clicked:

we were walking in the same direction.

Soon, we were joined by Ann Otieno, a bold, brilliant young woman whose career-day speech shook an entire hall. Her confidence, clarity, and leadership completed us in a way that felt destined.

And just like that, Sisters in Progress Mentorship Circle was born, not as a club, not as a trend, but as a movement.

We are a community of young women learning, making mistakes, healing, and rising together.

A safe circle where girls can dream boldly, learn fearlessly, and grow without fear of judgment.

A sisterhood built on purpose not perfection.

Here, every win counts.

Every struggle matters.

Every voice is heard.

During our first meeting, we asked each other one question:

“Who inspires you?”

I spoke about Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, whose words taught me that a woman can be powerful and soft, brilliant and simple, fierce and kind — all at once.

Purity shared her admiration for Muniba Mazari, the Iron Lady of Pakistan, a woman who rebuilt her life from ashes and turned pain into power.

Ann found strength in Caroline Mutoko, Kenya’s unapologetic voice of leadership, courage, and ambition.

That day, we learned something important:

When women share who inspires them, they unconsciously reveal who they are becoming.

Our Mission

To cultivate a generation of young women who rise with intention — guided by mentorship, strengthened by sisterhood, and empowered by knowledge.

Our Purpose

To nurture women who are inspired beyond their circumstances, supported beyond their fears, and equipped with the tools to shape the future they deserve.

How Sisters in Progress Works

This builds discipline, clarity, and resilience — together.

No one leaves empty-handed.

4. Monthly Virtual Meet-ups

We meet to celebrate, encourage, reflect and grow.

Because progress deserves recognition — even the smallest step counts.

Why Our Initiative Stands Out

Unlike most campus groups, we are not a social clique.

We are not competing.

We are not trying to impress anyone.

We are simply building the women we want to become.

This circle isn’t about perfection — it’s about progress, healing, connection.

And that is why it works.
