Small Sparks, Big Dreams: How Volunteerism is Shaping Bangladesh’s Future

Mosfeka zannat Nishat on Bangladesh television

I never saw myself as just an entrepreneur or a professional. I am a volunteer—a believer in the power of selfless action to change my country. Through Sombhabona, I have witnessed how small acts of hope, fueled by collective dreams and tireless effort, can begin to transform communities and inspire a generation of young people to reimagine what is possible for Bangladesh.

I have always felt most at home not as an entrepreneur or professional, but as a volunteer. To me, serving my country selflessly is the truest way to make a difference. I believe that the more people dedicate themselves to nation-building without expecting anything in return, the brighter and more beautiful our country will become.

My journey with Sombhabona began with a simple idea: small acts of hope can spark big change. Over the years, that idea has grown into a collective dream shared by countless young people who believe in a better Bangladesh.

Recently, I had the privilege of sharing our story on Bangladesh Television’s Alokito Tarunno program. Speaking openly about our dreams, the vision of our youth, and my own personal path, I felt the power of connecting hearts through purpose.

I have learned that a person is as big as their dreams. And when the dreams of many come together, they no longer remain dreams—they begin to take shape in reality. Yet, this transformation is never easy. It requires hard work, sacrifice, and patience from an entire team. Every small success, every tiny step toward change, becomes a milestone to celebrate together.

As volunteers, we may only be able to dream, plan, and strive—but I trust that the fulfillment of these dreams lies in the hands of the Creator. Sombhabona dreams of a happy, self-reliant, and prosperous Bangladesh. I believe that one day, these small sparks of hope carried by countless young dreamers will unite to light up the entire nation. InshaAllah, that day will come.

Being a volunteer is more than service; it is a commitment to believing that together, we can transform dreams into reality.

🙏 Keep us in your prayers.
