So drinking water is only for men apparently, discrimination on access to water

So I stumbled upon an old movie, a REALLY old movie, in which they were having some kind of party and a woman was eager to get a drink saying “I’m so thirsty I could die”, only to be told that the drinks were “only for the men”. She asks why, and is told that they are high class members so only they are allowed to have access to something so basic for ALL HUMAN LIFE. The woman responds by scoffing at the idea and storming off.
In short, it disgusted me. Why do upper class white men think only they can have the basic necessities of survival just because they’re men? I fucking HATE these kinds of men, the ones that claim they’re superior to the point of prohibiting those deemed below them to have the same access! And simply because of what we have between our legs, us women are not allowed to have the same rights!
Then it got me thinking. This IS the reality! This is what we are facing, especially in third world countries! Millions of women, especially those in poverty, of color, and most especially homeless women are suffering all because they were barred from getting the simple access to clean drinking water!
While some of you may say that men don’t either, that is partially true, however they are given more leniency simply because they’re male. And isn’t it obvious? A lot of third world countries are male-dominated (i.e. Syria, India, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, just to name a few). What’s even worse is that most white people, especially upper class men, fail to see it.
It’s like barring homeless people from getting the access to food, which is also necessary for survival. And since there are approximately 771,480 people in the United States that are homeless as of 2024, it really says something.
Because women in third world countries are still seen as less than human compared to the likes of men, it tells us that we are still living under oppression and inequality under the hands of the patriarchy. And it needs to stop!
