Speak up Sexual Harassment Awareness Campaigns

Five years ago, there was a massive rape accident in Egypt, where 5 men raped 1 girl, and they were from powerful families, a lot of social media pages were created to call for justice and to put pressure on the government to work on this case with transparency, one of those pages was " Speak Up".

"Speak Up" adopted a unique approach. They didn't just advocate for change; they also educated the audience about the law, how to protect themselves, and the necessary steps to file a report. They consistently updated the audience about the case and court announcements, keeping them engaged throughout the process.

While many other pages have become inactive and faded away over time, Speak Up has taken it upon themselves to address issues of sexual harassment, nude photo blackmail, and rape. They highlight the gaps in Egyptian law and the legal provisions that have remained overlooked. Speak Up aims to educate the public on how to claim their rights and provides legal services for victims to report any incidents of sexual violence.

They have gone above and beyond to collaborate with other civil organizations to raise awareness and prevent the practice of FGM through offline events, an online academy, and free legal consultancy.

Ultimately, they had a clear goal, engaged with their audience, and collaborated with other organizations to improve the community.
