Sudanese eye surgery initiative

The Nora Initiative to Combat Violence Against Women Abroad, in coordination with the Sudanese Eye Surgery Initiative, conducted a number of cataract surgeries through a number of businessmen at a treatment center that provides free examination, follow-up, and surgery. The patient only has to pay the cost of the lens at a nominal price. The initiative also coordinated with a service agency to create job opportunities for Sudanese women in the fields of teaching, libraries, and a number of other service jobs.
