Well deserved The Sudanese Journalists Syndicate congratulates the journalist and member of the Syndicate / Nadra Al-Mahdi, who was chosen by the “World Plus” website to be honored within the storytelling awards program dedicated to highlighting women’s stories around the world and conveying their voices. The website published Nadra Al-Mahdi’s story (Salt of the Earth) among 16 other stories. It deals with the suffering of Sudanese women amid the horrors of the war that has been raging for more than twenty months, as she documented the serious violations they were subjected to. It is noteworthy that this story was published within the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign last year 2024, which aims to shed light on gender-based violence and enhance efforts to combat it. The appreciation received by our colleague Nadra Al-Mahdi is well deserved and recalls the legacy of Sudanese journalism that extends for more than a century.
