Support Victorious women self-help group Kampala-Uganda founded by Keghah Roger Nuah

Victorious women self-help group is a community of women who have experienced and endued trauma and abuse. The women come together every Sunday afternoon to share their stories amongst themselves and lift up each other. As a result of the crisis in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, so many families had to cross the border into Uganda. Some settled in refugee camps while others moved to the city center to faint for themselves and family. With the increasing cost of living in the city these women are forced to go around hocking in order to pay house rents, school fees, feed their families and pay medical bills. As the women move into the neighborhoods in search of what to feed their families some men stay at home to look after the young kids. As the men stay at home they feel very insecure as in their though they think the women get out there to entertain extra marital affairs. Based on this insecurity there is an unprecedented increase in intimate partner violence and domestic violence within refugee households. At the Victorious women community women help one another b sharing their stories to help lift one another. The community meets every Sunday and the women save their small income. The can also loan from the fund they have created with their savings. Women are given lessons on how to refill positive energy, self-esteem, book keeping and entrepreneurship. Our desire is to help these women with startup capital to start small business or to acquire vocational skills in hair dressing, tailoring, and interior decoration and computer sciences.
