Support: What does it look like to you?

Support : What does it look like to you

When we think of support systems,a plethora of things come to mind-financial, emotional, physical support etc. While the people around us may offer support in the way that they can , sometimes what they offer may not be what we need in different situations.

As women in Nigeria, especially the ones that are not so privileged and have been programmed to be grateful and content, been programmed to see everything given as a privilege even if and when it doesn't strike the chord where it hurts.

Have you experienced this before?

What do you do in those moments?.

Some would give a grand show of appreciation, a smile or convince themselves that it should be enough. However, with the woman , sometimes it is never the case. It is not all the time that support looks like "it is well"- a common line thrown at women in Nigeria within the Christian community hopefully to pacify.

Look out for my next story , on how women can communicate to get the exact support they need.
