TCIS in collaboration with CII organising Education Summit in Chandigarh on Oct 13, 2012

We am pleased to inform that Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in support of TCIS, is organising EduSummit 2012 with the theme ‘Taking Higher Education in Northern Region to the next orbit’ on Saturday, 13 October at CII NR Headquarters in Chandigarh.

Education Summit 2012 assumes greater significance as Indian Education Sector is growing in leaps and bound all across. Despite the recent surge of funding and emphasis on the sector, there is still a significant way to go in making the Indian education standards comparable to global ones. It is a well known fact that a robust education system would catalyse reforms in the higher and vocational education, thereby helping the region harness its advantage of favorable population dynamics. This would positively impact the school education as well.

With an intent of addressing such pertinent issues of the sector in an integrated manner, the Summit will enable build further impetus on CII’s agenda for education through the deliberations on :

· Reform agenda of the HRD Ministry & dovetailing with State aspiration
· Universalizing quality education
· Private Funding in Higher Education: Key to Strengthen Education infrastructure
· How to make India a Global education Hub?
· Need for Industry Academia collaborative effort

Mr Ashok Thakur, Secretary – Education, Government of India has been invited to join us as Guest of Honour at this flagship event. We are inviting Secretaries from various States to deliberate on the pragmatic initiatives being undertaken in their respective States.
