The Day God Wept for a Friend🥹-Krishna And Sudama

To my world pulse readers

Krishna and sudama-A friend we truly deserve

My Dearest World Pluse Readers,

On 3rd August, it was a Sunday. After a long five-day work week and a full day spent shopping and doing all the girly things I love, I came home on Saturday night and slept like a baby. But when I woke up the next morning, it struck me—August 3rd, Friendship Day.

Growing up, I never really had a good friend. There were many reasons: being raised in a strict household, always focused on studies, never playing outside, never letting anyone close. Even when I finally found someone dear to me, in 2023 we parted ways. I felt an emptiness I couldn’t describe.

That was when I came across the story of Krishna and Sudama—a friendship so pure it softened even the hardest sorrow.

When Shree Krishna and Balaram became old enough, they were sent to the ashram of Guru Sandipani in Mathura. There, among many disciples, Krishna met Sudama for the first time. Krishna asked Sudama, “Will you be my friend?” Sudama, humble and hesitant, replied, “But I am a poor Brahmin, and you are a royal prince. What can I ever offer you?” Krishna simply said, “Promise me that no matter what happens, we will always be friends.”

Years passed. One day, while collecting firewood, Sudama felt hungry and secretly ate all the roasted gram given by their Guru’s wife. When Krishna asked, Sudama lied. Though Krishna knew the truth, He only smiled and forgave him. But the Guru’s wife cursed Sudama with lifelong poverty.

Their paths diverged—Krishna became the King of Dwarka, surrounded by opulence. Sudama lived out the curse, struggling to feed his children. Yet he never asked Krishna for help. Finally, urged by his wife, Sudama set out to see his friend, carrying only a humble bundle of flattened rice as a gift.

Outside Krishna’s golden palace, Sudama was mocked by the guards for claiming to be the king’s friend. But when Krishna heard Sudama’s name, He ran barefoot to embrace him. With tears streaming down His cheeks, Krishna washed Sudama’s tired feet—not with water, but with His own tears.

As I finished reading, my eyes were filled with tears.

In a world full of pretense and fleeting relationships, it made me realize how rare it is to find a friend like Sudama—a soul so pure, a heart so loyal.

Lord Krishna, despite being a king, never once humiliated Sudama for being poor. And Sudama, even in his deepest struggles, never envied Krishna’s grandeur. Fate separated them for years, but love never did. Their bond remained untouched—selfless, eternal, divine.

Sudama continued to love Krishna just the way he did in their childhood, and Krishna cherished him just as deeply. True friendship never changes with time, distance, or circumstances. It only grows stronger in silence and sacrifice.

But this isn’t the end of their story. In fact, it’s just the beginning.

✨ In Part 2, I’ll share what happened after Sudama met Lord Krishna—how fate changed, how humility was rewarded, and how divine love writes its own destiny. Stay tuned, because their friendship has much more to teach us. 💫
