Writing is a powerful tool, often underestimated in its ability to heal and reveal. When we pen down our thoughts, we embark on a journey of self-discovery, allowing our inner selves to surface and shine. This process can be profoundly therapeutic, offering a refuge for our emotions and a canvas for our creativity. And #worldpulse is doing exactly that (Kudos)
Writing stories allows for the expression of emotions that we might struggle to articulate verbally. By putting feelings into words, we can release pent-up emotions, reducing stress and anxiety. It's a form of emotional detox, cleansing the mind and Crafting a story encourages introspection. As we reflect on our experiences, we gain a deeper understanding of our thoughts, behaviors, and motivations. This self-awareness can lead to personal growth and emotional healing.
Completing a story, no matter how short, instills a sense of achievement. This boosts self-esteem and provides a sense of purpose, contributing positively to our mental health.
Here in #worldpulse writing stories taps into our creativity, allowing us to explore parts of ourselves that might remain hidden in our daily lives. It’s an opportunity to experiment with different perspectives, characters, and scenarios, revealing facets of our personality and imagination. Through the narrative process, we might discover underlying truths about ourselves. Characters and plots often mirror our subconscious thoughts and feelings, providing insights into our desires, fears, and unresolved issues. It helps us find our voice and assert our identity. By articulating our thoughts and stories, we affirm who we are and what we stand for. This can be especially empowering, fostering a stronger sense of self.
So here I am sharing my story what motivated me to write down is because I was going through mixed emotions. Struggling being mother of two toddlers with work, home chores and financial crisis (all together it won't be wrong to say Mid-life crisis). Although I am very ambitious and always love advocating for women rights and working on Women Access to Justice and Women Lawyers empowerment (as a lawyer myself in Pakistan I have always worked with the grass-root community and am a strong advocate of women access to justice and passionate about providing pro-bono legal advise) Somewhere, I find myself lost and in the struggling phase . I seek refugee in writing . I strangely find penning down my feelings as a strong way of healing and finding direction . I somewhat have good research skills and writing with data has always been my passion but lack of opportunities and lack of spaces has always created barriers. (which I find here in #World pulse a home and a safe space with no judgments).That is exactly what empowered women do they uplift each other help each other to come out of struggling phase and heal. I find peace and whenever I want to write down I just open World pulse where I Know I have strong women to support.
In the end I would like to share some point and encourage all of the ladies struggling to write. Here are some tips for healing through writing;
- Start Small: Begin with short stories or journal entries. Don't pressure yourself to write a masterpiece. The goal is to express, not impress.
- Be Honest: Write truthfully about your feelings and experiences. Authenticity enhances the therapeutic effect of writing.
- Set Regular Time: Dedicate a specific time each day or week for writing. Consistency helps in building a habit and ensures regular emotional release.
- Create a Safe Space: Ensure that your writing environment is comfortable and free from distractions. This will help you open up more easily.
- Share if Comfortable: Sometimes, sharing your stories with trusted friends or communities can amplify the healing process through feedback and support. However, only share if you feel safe and ready.
