The houses we live in : Earth Day 2021

The houses we live in, though safe and comfortable, Are but not as beautiful as the world outside.

Their ceilings, not as captivating as the night sky, full of glimmering stars. Lamps, despite the price,

Not as bewildering as the sun, when it’s at dawn or dusk. Decorations, Not as pretty as droplets of dew

Hanging to the plants at night, glistening from afar as if stars have themselves fallen from the sky.

Thermostats do save us from cold and heat, but one cannot compare them with a bout of fresh air.

The houses we live in, no matter how grand and well built, are not enough for us. The world outside, on the other hand, seems that it has everything we need to feel satisfied. As if there is nothing more that is needed, and it’s all that we required.
