The Invisible Thread: My Warriors for Good Award

There are moments when recognition finds you; not because you chased it, but because you stayed committed to the work, even when no one was watching.

Recently, an email stopped me: I had been named Sustainability Champion under the Warriors for Good Awards 2026, nominated by Power for the People Africa Trust (PFP) after rigorous evaluation.

From 2021 to 2023, I worked with PFP on women-centered programs in underserved areas:

• Remba Island, Kenya

• Rusinga Island, Kenya

• Osupukiai, Narok County, Kenya

• Patongo, Northern Uganda

These projects became living classrooms, where women confronted energy poverty, financial exclusion, economic poverty, sexual reproductive health, and limited opportunities. Their resilience taught powerful lessons in co-creation. Together, we built social enterprise models; practical, income-generating solutions like:

• Beekeeping for honey production

• Ghee processing

• Reusable sanitary pad making

• Horticulture and kitchen gardening

• Cage fishing owned by women

• Bead making

• Poultry farming

• Tree planting for commercial

This work thrived through intentional the PFP revolving funds, partnerships, connecting PFP with governments, institutions, organizations, and individuals united by a shared vision. These alliances unlocked resources, shared knowledge, sparked innovation, and scaled impact. In resource-scarce spaces, they are the currency of change; bridges from possibility to reality.

Over 650 lives were transformed by these women, with impact still expanding. Today, I serve on PFP’s Board of Trustees, witnessing ongoing change, women’s empowerment, and project growth.

This Warriors for Good Sustainability Champion award celebrates:

• Every woman daring to dream differently

• Every partner believing in collective impact

• Every community opening doors and trusting the process

• The entire PFP team I am honored to work with

To Every Woman Reading This….

Your work matters. Your consistency matters. Your quiet efforts shape futures, even when recognition feels distant. Keep building. Keep connecting. Keep showing up. One day, the world will pause and see you.

Cheers!
