It takes courage and bravery to go through the recovery journey that you’re so clueless about, all you do is hope that you get through the situation successfully, a happy ending, and a new chance to live normally without any barriers. Mental health, emotional damage, and sickness among other drawbacks in life leave huge gaps and break us and if not correctly handled it can lead to unending depression and eventually death.
Stages of Recovery
Diagnosis- It is logical to get diagnosed to know what you’re suffering from. Sadly, people are ignorant when signs and symptoms show until the case worsens. You are human and hence shouldn’t regard yourself as strong even when you know that you’re sick or breaking down. Without diagnosis, they can’t be recovered.
Accepting the situation you’re in-We can only recover from something that we have accepted is there and want to get over. Recovery begins with ACCEPTANCE! We don’t choose pain but we have to blossom and grow through it, it should never define us negatively.
Seeking necessary help- When you come to terms with the reality that you need help it paves the way for you to find help from the necessary persons and even from your inner self. Allow yourself to get help, and be willing to recover.
Adhering to the routine that comes along with the help- no matter how exhausting the routine feels please stick to it wholeheartedly. From heavy medication to therapy, clinics for your treatment, and anything else that comes with the recovery package take it positively as a walk to your freedom, to the old you in a new form.
Leave the rest to God - keep fighting, your spirit should remain high. Give the process the best shot and leave the rest to God. Let it not be said you gave up halfway because the routine was exhausting or everything that came with the recovery was draining, make the end worth the process, and give it the benefit of the doubt. I want you to trust in God, yourself, and the help you’re getting and you will be all right, you shall overcome.
