The Life of David – A Lesson for Us All

The Life of David – A Lesson for Us All

This afternoon I found myself thinking about the life of David. David was the last born in his family — the least respected, the “errand boy,” the one no one rated.

As the last child, he wasn’t pampered. Instead, he was sent to the fields as a shepherd and to battle ground to give his brothers food. (Even when Samuel was in their house to anoint King Saul’s replacement as King, he was forgotten or let’s just say his father in his mind ruled him out)🙁

He fought lions, bears, and even Goliath. He ran away and hid from Saul and yet every challenge prepared him for kingship. Yet, through the rejection, obscurity and battles, David was chosen and he was crowned King.

Life’s Lessons 👇

Sometimes your current season feels like obscurity- you are running errands, you are unseen, you are fighting battles no one claps for, you are being rejected and disrespected….

But like David, every hidden struggle is shaping you for visibility, strength and purpose. Who saw David when he killed ferocious animals just to protect his Sheep, no one. 🤷‍♀️ But that experience gave him the boldness to stand up to Goliath in the presence of the King and soldiers of Israel and Palestine.

If you are like David and all your life it’s been from one battle to another, if you have spent all your life fighting…If David could move from the field to the throne, you too can rise from fighting to fulfilling destiny.

👉 Do not despise your humble beginnings.

👉 Do not give up in the fight.

👉 Do not believe the labels others put on you.

Your story is not over. The very battles you are facing today are preparing your crown tomorrow. 👑✨

The sure mercy of David will speak for you! Shalom 💙
