THE LIGHT OF 2025
The dawn of 2025 wasn’t just another year—it was a moment when the stories I had dreamed, written, and lived started coming true. As a university student in Kenya, I had spent years navigating personal struggles, academic challenges, and the pursuit of purpose. Along the way, I held onto three unwavering truths: patience, belief in oneself, and the power of helping others.
"Every seed takes time to grow."
This belief carried me through the toughest times. In 2024, when unpaid fees and endless obstacles threatened to derail my education, I reminded myself that even the strongest trees endure storms before they flourish. Life’s delays were not denials; they were opportunities to build resilience. Slowly but surely, I began to see the fruits of my perseverance—doors opening where once there were walls.
"You’re not enough."
For years, this doubt haunted me. But I kept writing. Story after story, I poured my soul onto paper, targeting those on the brink of giving up, those lying on sickbeds, and those who felt unseen and unheard. And then, something magical happened—my words began to resonate. Articles were published, honorariums were won, and my voice, once shaky and uncertain, became a beacon for others.
Helping others became the thread that wove my stories into reality. In 2024, I started a small campus initiative to engage young boys and girls in storytelling, Bible studies, and meaningful conversations. What began as a way to keep my mind busy soon transformed into a community of hope and healing. Together, we battled harmful behaviors, celebrated small victories, and reminded one another that we were not alone.
And then, Hold My Hand Initiative entered my life, amplifying my dreams. As the Communication Manager, I worked alongside a passionate team to empower vulnerable groups, mentor young people, and address societal challenges. Organizing workshops, creating safe spaces, and uplifting the brokenhearted weren’t just tasks—they were the very essence of the stories I wanted to see come true.
By 2025, I could see the ripple effect of my efforts. "The joy of seeing someone rise from despair because you believed in them is unparalleled." These words, once just a thought, became my reality. Watching young people find purpose, witnessing communities thrive, and knowing I had played a part in their journey filled my heart with gratitude.
This year, my stories aren’t just words on a page—they are lives changed, hope restored, and dreams awakened. To anyone reading this: Be patient with your journey. Believe in your dreams, even when doubt clouds your path. And most importantly, extend your hand to someone in need.
Because sometimes, the stories you write have the power to come true—not just for you, but for the world around you.
