The Real me

I am Lucy Msukwa and I am a Malawian. In my family we are five. My parents died long time ago while we were young. We raised each other. Life was tough back then. I remember we could sleep for 2 to 3 days without a meal. Bad thoughts kept coming into my mind, sometimes the feeling of starting prostitution could come into my mind. The community never had high expectations from us. All they were doing was watching us and bullying us that we won't make it life. With that commotion, from the community it prompted me to build self confidence and trust in myself that I can make it in life and that I can make a difference. I worked hard, went to college, found scholarship by J'africa. I never stopped there, I remember, while at college, I was telling my coallegues that one day, I shall open a maternity hospital. My friends laughed at me and said it won't be possible, women in our country don't do such things. It's only Male people who can manage to do that. To prove them wrong, I started saving after I started working in government hospital. I saved money for 4 years and started purchasing medical equipment little by little. In 2019 September that's when I saw that I have enough resources, and I opened the  clinic focusing on sexual reproductive health.
